Date to be confirmed

Over two days, including five workshop sessions and two walks, attendees will work in teams to create a plan for a fictitious attraction, whilst testing ideas and learning about the roles market size, cost, experience, income and space play in defining a successful strategy. The Workshop sessions use the tried and tested Vision 5 Models to drive the strategy; it's the same 5 Models that many celebrated attractions have used to create successful business plans.
The 5 Models that predict and monitor visitor experiences, to ensure attractions provide a viable and memorable experience.
The training will show you how to:
-
Predict attendance
-
Build a cost plan for the attraction
-
Analyse the attractions visitor experience
-
Space plan
-
Produce a 5-year strategy
The Walk-shop takes place in Wallingford over two days, with each day having a different location. Attendees move between locations on foot via the Thames Path and through beautiful South Oxfordshire woodlands. The programme for the Walk-shop can be found here.

There is an informal dinner on the first night. If you would like to attend the Walk-shop but the walks seem daunting there will be transport provided.
To date over 200 people have attended the Walk-shop and many are applying the knowledge to their attractions or progressing their careers. You can find out more about the value of the 5 Models here.
‘An enjoyable, stimulating and interesting few days. I now feel even more excited about my job and the challenges and opportunities we have ahead. Great workshop, loved the walks, and I’m looking forward to the advanced session’
Sally Cordwell, SS Great Britain
The Walk-shop is a great opportunity to network with likeminded professionals over the course of two days, and it also opens the door to the Advanced Workshop. Take a look at an example Walk-shop programme.
